He is also responsible for many other areas of Destra corporate development and strategy. Tom's unique global perspective and sophisticated skill set are assets that few other firms can claim.

Tom joined Destra Capital following 26 years at the international law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s Investment Management practice in Chicago. At Skadden, Tom advised leading investment management firms on developing and structuring new investment products, operating their investment management businesses, and performing strategic acquisitions and dispositions. He also represented numerous investment banks and product distributors, as well as sponsors of private investment funds and trading firms, and developed a variety of innovative investment product and distribution structures. In addition to his responsibilities at Destra, Tom is a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School.
